Somewhat whiny journal. Consider yourself warned.

Well, okay. So my husband was paying the bills today and we are officially screwed. Screwed as in 1) our bills exceed that of what we make and we both work, so we cannot pay some of our bills and 2) there will be no Christmas for us this year unless I am able to take a second job over the holidays. In other words, I will be having to find a second job to work at least over the holidays which also means no two weeks off for me, but it's not like I get paid for that, which is why I am having to look for the job to begin with. If I cannot get a second job over the holidays, then there will be no Christmas gifts for us, no gifts for our families, and no gifts for our friends. So, for those I usually send gifts to, please accept my sincere apologies, but I simply do not have the funds to spare this year. I do not get paid over the two weeks I am off, aside from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, and that is what will be breaking us. So Merry freakin' Christmas. I hope everyone else enjoys their holidays.

In other news, I interviewed for a teaching position two weeks ago, but, once again, I did not get it. This time I was passed over in favor of the wife of a district principal. So yeah, not much of a chance there. The interview was pretty well a formality. I actually had done very well, and if it hadn't been for the fact that a principal's wife has a bigger foot than I do, I think I would have been hired.

So yeah, sorry for the pity party, but I'm pretty bummed out. I'm tired of financial struggle all the time. We are officially worse off right now than we were during my internship and the sad thing is that I am working again! But even though I have a Bachelor's Degree, my school district refuses to PAY me what I am worth even if I am working as a Classroom Aide. It turns out that only 60 hours of my college counts in my job, so in a nutshell, I am making the same as employees who only have 60 hours of college and no degree. Unfair much? I think so. I mean, sure it's lower level, but for crying out loud I deserve at least $10 USD an hour because I have a degree. Oh, and the fact that they won't pay for any days off unless it's a holiday, which goes back to my two weeks off at Christmas. Assholes. That's rural communities for you. Sad thing is that even smaller districts PAY the entirety of Christmas break and they get paid over summer.

Again, my apologies, but I kind of needed to unload. If anyone actually read this, thanks for reading.
